Get to know Tee.
With honesty, grace, and just the right amount of humor, Tee is surviving multiple myeloma! A warrior through and through, she welcomes others to Tee Talks Myeloma—a space where anyone also battling will find the support, advocacy, and information they need to move forward.
Before being diagnosed in 2017 at the age of 46, Tee built a successful career in education. A natural-born connector with a bright smile and approachable nature, Tee excelled as both a teacher and administrator. Her professional experience also includes grant writing and mentoring future educators—both of which set the stage for her work in advocacy. In 2008, Tee was honored in her field for Outstanding Service.

Like so many when told they have cancer, Tee felt lost. There was so little information out there about multiple myeloma, a rare blood cancer. So, Tee got to work researching ways to take control of her health and sustain life. While gathering as much data as she could, she sought treatment and consulted with local doctors and world-renowned specialists like Elisabet Manasanch, MD, currently serving as professor in Lymphoma/Myeloma Center at MD Anderson in Houston, TX. Today, Tee channels her positive energy, drive, and 25+ years of teaching experience into her work as an advocate for multiple myeloma.
Tee holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a master’s degree in education. She is married to the love of her life, Cavangh, and together they live outside of Dallas, Texas. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, reading, and traveling. She’s also a novice gardener, serious foodie, and essential oil enthusiast.
Tee loves connecting to share stories/tips, support and more.
