Isolation was something I was not expecting to accompany a cancer diagnosis. My immune system is non-existent from cancer and cancer treatment. With a shot immune system, I had to tell so many people to “STAY AWAY if you’re sick!” I can’t put myself at more risk by getting deathly ill with a simple cold, let alone something more serious.
I was mourning my old way of life. But now, I had to do it totally isolated, except for my closest family. For someone who has lived out their life in service of others, that was not an easy transition.
But it gave me even more reason to pursue finding something that would help me float in an ocean of overwhelming emotions.
